We are seeking a highly creative and motivated individual to join us in developing technologies and solutions both the current and for the next generation of gene and cell therapies to treat rare diseases. The successful applicant will have a strong scientific background and proven accomplishments in molecular and cellular biology with a particular interest for genome editing and gene therapy.

As part of the team, the candidate will contribute both to evaluating, incorporating novel technological solutions and approaches as well as to our ongoing efforts to develop differentiated therapeutic approaches using our gene editing technology.  Candidates should be highly self-motivated with the ability to excel in a fast-moving, goal-oriented environment.

The successful candidate will:

  • Explore, evaluate, test and elaborate technological approaches to be used in the genomic engineering and culture of cells for therapeutic applications
  • Develop next-generation gene and cell therapies using genome editing
  • Develop, design and execute functional and structural ex vivo assays on cells mainly of hemopoietic lineages
  • Work with a cross-disciplinary team to optimize cell culture and gene editing approaches

Qualifications:

  • Ph. D in gene therapy, cellular and molecular biology, genetics or related disciplines, with a postdoctoral experience of 1-3 years
  • Solid experience with biology of cell of hemopoietic lineages (primarily HSC and lymphocytes)
  • Expertise in characterizing and analyzing cell subsets by multi-color flow cytometry
  • Excellent troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently are required
  • Knowledge in biochemistry and protein analytical methods is a plus
  • Knowledge in vivo animal model is a plus
  • Fluent or proficient in English
  • Fluent or proficient in French is a plus
