As part of the Global HR team, the Human Resources Manager will lead and direct the routine HR functions of the assigned office or departments which includes interviewing staff, administering pay, providing benefit guidance, and developing and enforcing company policies and practices.

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resources and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruitment and retention in our NY Offices.
  • Preparation of new hire documentation.
  • Plans and coordinates onboarding activities for new hires through partnerships with managers, the (PEO) Professional Employer Organization and support functions (i.e. IT, Communications, etc.).
  • Facilitator of the Company’s onboarding process in partnership with entities in Raleigh, NC and Paris, France.
  • Prepare, review and approve payroll activities, ensuring SOX compliance in collaboration with the PEO.
  • Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Participates in employee events to help foster a collaborative environment. 
  • In partnership with PEO, oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Maintain interaction with other teams within HR.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Report to the US HR Director based in Raleigh, NC.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • A minimum of 7 years years of human resource management experience.
  • Intimate knowledge of New York State employment laws and statutes.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, start up environment.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
  • Knowledge of laboratory, Biotechnology, or Pharmaceutical industries highly preferred.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. 
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
