Romainville, France, May the 23rd, 2006
Press Release
June the 2nd 2006, Cellectis will host the next GDR 2825 workshop on "Novel approaches on Directed Protein Evolution", at his Romainville headquarters (Paris region).
GDR 2825 is a comprehensive cluster of French research laboratories and companies active in combinatorial protein engineering. This research association was created in 2004 at the initiative of the Life Science Department of the French National Center of Scientific Research (CNRS) to form a consistent group of academic and industrial partners aiming to share and to develop new technologies in the field of protein directed evolution.
The objective is to blend knowledge and know-how in combinatorial approaches applied to protein engineering to enhance their effectiveness and bring competitive advantage. Valorization for biotechnologies and basic research of these combinatorial approaches is performed through specific actions:
- Promote the development of technologies meeting the needs of the academic community and of the biotechnology industry as well;
- Facilitate the access to heavy-duty resources within technological platforms such as: sequencing chips, robotics, functional high throughput screening;
- Spread the information and know-how throughout the network to improve multidisciplinary approaches;
- Provide appropriate training through meetings, workshops and labs swaps.
