Paris, February 8, 2011 – Cellectis (Alternext: ALCLS), the French Genome engineering specialist, has announced today that Philippe Duchateau, PhD, head of the R&D group and Deputy Chief Scientific Officer at Cellectis will present his work at the gene Targeting Congress to be held in Vienna, Austria, on February 9-12, 2011.

Targeted approaches have emerged today as an alternative to current random insertion strategies for gene therapy. Meganucleases, the most specific endonucleases, represent ideal tools for targeted Genome editing, or Genome surgery. They can induce up to 20% of gene insertion into chosen human genes.

Dr Duchateau will present “Engineered Meganucleases for Genome Engineering Purposes” on February 10, 2011, at 10:10AM, during an oral session Targeted Integration in Model Species.
